Hi, I'm Emily. My primary goal as a therapist is to create a safe space for clients to do their deepest work. I embrace a holistic strengths-based view of each person I meet, and wholeheartedly believe that each client is the expert within their own life. My approach is always person-centered, which means we use multiple modalities during session based on your own strengths, goals, and desires.
I utilize psychodynamic therapy, which means looking at both the present and the past to understand how we show up in the world. I take an integrative approach to trauma informed care, and draw from a wide range of modalities that may include Somatic/Body-Centered Therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Mindfulness/Mind-body integration, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Relational/ Attachment-based Therapy – as well as elements of parts work, Compassion Focused Therapies and Existential modalities. I am also EMDR certified.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of Montana and a Master’s degree in Social Work from Boise State University, and have a special interest in trauma/PTSD, domestic violence, grief and loss and Somatic psychotherapy. I am committed to embodied learning and am passionate about expanding my skillset and expertise. I am always learning. Outside of the office, I enjoy live music and time with loved ones. I am endlessly fascinated with philosophy, relational neuroscience, and the power of the written word.
I can't wait to work together!
